The Recipient will receive an e-mail with a card code and a QR code. Copy the card code or click on the QR code.  Then, log into the website and go shopping.  When you have selected your purchases, go to Check Out. 

There, you will be asked if you want to use a gift card.  Simply paste the code you copied and go to payment.  The amount of the gift card will be subtracted from your purchase order.  If you are in a state where taxes are paid, you will only be taxes on the balance of the purchase (minus the Gift Card).  

If you don't use up the entire Gift Card on your 1st purchase, you can use the remaining balance on your next purchase.  You can check your balance by clicking on the “View gift card balance” on the original e-mail. Or, if you signed up as a member, you can log in and check your balance on your account.
